I was born in Dundee, Scotland and spent most of my childhood living on a farm. When I was 16 years old I joined the (UK) Royal Marines and was trained as a musician (trombonist), serving in several bands aboard ships and shore establishments that took me all over the World during my military career.
When I left the Marines I did so in Singapore, and was allowed to stay there as I had obtained employment with the Singapore Government in their staff orchestra. After ten or more years of this wonderful life I decided it was time to return to the UK and settle down, and having met the right lady of my life, we were married.
I spent the next thirty five years as a free lance musician working with known bands in Britain such as The Northern Dance Orchestra, Eric Delaney Big Band, The New Geraldo Orchestra, The Millionaires, and the Empress Ballroom Orchestra playing in the Blackpool Wintergardens for all the major World Ballroom championships.
During this period I started teaching children in schools to play music on brass instruments such as the trumpet and trombone, and although I retired from professional playing three years ago I still do a little part-time music teaching in primary schools.
I started writing Novels and short stories somewhere in the late 1980's and my first adventure Novel was published in 2007, after several re-writes and editing. I am currently working on another adventure thriller Novel that hopefully should be completed by christmas of 2010.
I live in the UK with my wife and have three (grown up) children and one grand child.
